Public Art

I have been chosen by the Idaho State Commission on the Arts to represent them in Northern Idaho for 2007 / 2008. I will be attending a training workshop May 18 & 19, 2007 to learn more and look forward to discussing the opportunities for public art with local businesses and individuals throughout North Idaho.

Our Sandpoint gallery is on schedule to re-open in May at our new location at 225 Cedar. We will be located directly across from Pend Oreille Winery and Sullivan Homes.

The Artist Studio Tour of North Idaho is coming together nicely. There will be about 20 artists opening their studios and brochures detailing how to get to each location will be available late May / early June. I would like to personally thank the Seasons at Sandpoint for being a major sponsor of this great event.

A group of concerned individuals met last week to discuss the future of art in Sandpoint and how we can incorporate art into all facets of our community. It was a great meeting with a lot of thought provoking conversation. I look forward to this group growing and making sure art is not over looked as we grow.
